Simon Cowell brings two of his beautiful rides—a 1977 Ford Bronco Custom SUV and a 2009 Bentley Azure Convertible—to the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction
The Barrett-Jackson Auction brings out star cars. It also brings out cars that belong to the stars, be they athletes, rock musicians or Hollywood celebrities.
At this year’s Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, famous British entertainment executive and entrepreneur Simon Cowell brought two of his most remarkable personal vehicles for auction at Barrett-Jackson.
Simon Cowell’s 2009 Bentley Azure Convertible
The second-generation Bentley Azure lasted only four model years (2006-2009) and Cowell got one of the last ones off the line. Under the hood is a powerful 6.75-liter V8 engine fed by a pair of massive turbochargers that force-feed the fuel-air mixture into the cylinder heads.
It has a deep black paint, rich black leather seats, deep black wool carpeting and a padded black top. The big Bentley produces 450 horsepower and, more importantly, a jaw-dropping 645 ft/lbs of torque, which allows the Azure to accelerate hard. The auction listing for Lot #1301.2 says that the single-owner vehicle comes with a clean CARFAX report and just 4,625 miles on the odometer.
The second vehicle from Simon Cowell crossing the block is just as luxurious, but more rugged.
Simon Cowell’s 1977 Ford Bronco Custom SUV
This custom 1977 Ford Bronco (Lot #1025.3) has also been given the full-on black treatment with stunning black paint, black interior and black wheels. It has a Ford Racing 302ci V8 crate engine that produces a full 340 horsepower thanks to a suite of upgrades. The under-hood components have been upgraded to include Holley Avenger 4-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, electric distributor, and aluminum radiator.
It has a set of ceramic headers and 2.5-inch MagnaFlow exhaust system. The lifted Bronco sits on James Duff springs and has Wilwood brakes. It rides on XD series wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A tires. Cowell weather-proofed the inside of the Bronco with LINE-X coated floors. There’s a Pioneer head unit and custom stereo along with leather seats and a leather-wrapped roll bar inside.
